Earlier this week I finished the Nest sweatshirt, my first Sew Liberated project, and I just wanted to say how wonderful the complete experience was for me.

I finally felt a true love for sewing, instead of a mild frustration which always accompanied my sewing. your pattern was so clear, so well written, and the sweatshirt was so unbelievably original that everything just felt perfect and right, and that is absolutely thanks to you.

Yay for indie pattern makers!

Since 2019 posting on the Mindful Wardrobe Project has been such a fun way of meeting other makers. I love sharing and posting on daily outfits, projects and thoughts on making. This is such a joyful and kind community. I'm so grateful for the course, community and fitting advice on the Mindful Wardrobe Project, thank you!

The Hinterland Dress is EVERYTHING in my wardrobe. I wear my Hinterlands all year round here in Australia.

I'm looking forward to sewing a Lichen duster for next autumn/winter so I can wear it over my Hinterlands with tights. Minimal effort but so lovely (and comfy!)

I expected to finish the Mindful Wardrobe Project with a capsule wardrobe but instead I have something much better: a feeling of excitement and playfulness to create a new wardrobe within the boundaries of my personal preferences. I have learnt so much about my style, creativity and what matters most to me as a sewist. The encouraging and inspiring community really helped to make the MWP a wonderful experience.

The class with Meg totally changed my view of clothing. The exercises she used to walk us through finding our style were eye-opening and left me inspired to continue the journey.

Wait til you see me next time — my personal style will be rock-star!

My big goal this year is to learn to sew pants. The pants fitting course has been fantastic for me, partly because of the thorough video instruction, but Saremy’s support in the forum is a game-changer. I feel as though she is sitting next to me, fitting my muslin right on my body. It’s hard to believe she is doing all of this virtually through me sharing photos and her sending me feedback, recommendations, and personalized video demos of what I’m to do. I am not only learning the how-to of pants fitting, but she is making it possible for me to actually understand why I’m doing it. Thank you so much, Saremy!

You want to love your wardrobe. You want the joy of making something beautiful.

But, let’s be honest, that long list of potential projects can be OVERWHELMING, making you feel anxious rather than joyful.

I’ve developed a Guide to Holding Time for Creativity where I show you a path to slowing down, finding mental space, and turning your sewing into a practice of self-care.
